Le « Banc Anamorphique » est une pièce unique créée par YokYok.. Ce projet artistique s’inscrit dans la continuité d’une recherche sur l’anamorphose tridimensionnelle. La démarche qui se situe entre art, design et architecture vise à créer des oeuvres qui reposent sur 3 principes :
-Elles jouent avec la perspective
-Elles mettent en scène le corps humain
-Elles offrent un mobilier original, ludique, et pédagogique

Le Banc Anamorphique est l’étirement d’une simple chaise. Il prend l’apparence d’un banc désarticulé, mais lorsqu’on l’observe depuis le point de vue adéquat, à hauteur d’enfant, la chaise initiale réapparaît. Les personnes qui sont alors assises à différents niveaux du banc, apparaissent à l’oeil de l’observateur à des tailles différentes. L’objet géométrique met en scène celles et ceux qui l’utilisent. Il se joue des échelles. La photographie (ou le fait de fermer un oeil) permet d’observer avec plus d’efficacité le phénomène.

Pour sa première réalisation, Le Banc Anamorphique a reçu le soutien et la confiance de la ville de Malicorne-sur-Sarthe. Dans une démarche de création écologique et locale, YokYok a voulu créer pour les assises, un «béton de Malicorne» composé :
-d’un ciment BAS CARBONE (sans clinker)
-de pigments 100% naturels (de la ville d’Apt) pour rappeler la couleur de l’argile de Malicorne
-de copeaux de faïence de Malicorne (au lieu de graviers) pour enrichir la recette d’une dimension historique évoquant un savoir-faire local, au coeur de la matière. 35kg d’assiettes en faïence (assiettes cassées, défauts de cuisson, rebuts… offerts par la Faïencerie d’Art de Malicorne) ont été nécessaires à la réalisation du «béton de Malicorne».

Le béton et ses coffrages ont étés réalisés à Malicorne-sur-Sarthe par YokYok, aux ateliers des services municipaux, en septembre 2023.

The 'Anamorphic Bench' is a unique piece created by YokYok. This artistic project is part of YokYok's ongoing exploration of three-dimensional anamorphosis. Operating at the intersection of art, design, and architecture, the approach aims to create works based on 3 principles:
- Playing with perspective
- Staging the human body
- Providing original, playful, and educational furniture.

The Anamorphic Bench plays with perspective and the human body. It brings original, playful, and pedagogical urban furniture to public space. Its complex geometry is the stretch of a simple chair. When viewed from the right perspective, the initially dislocated bench reveals the form of the initial chair. The geometry changes and flattens; the legs hide behind each other, creating a magical effect. Individuals sitting at different levels on the bench appear at varying sizes. The bench stages those who use it. The phenomenon is more obvious in photography or by simply closing one eye.

YokYok created this piece for the city of Malicorne-sur-Sarthe in France. It's a small city globally recognized for its 'Faïenceries d’Art' (decorative earthenware). The seats are made of 'Malicorne concrete,' composed of:
-low-carbon concrete (without clinker)
-natural pigments
-pieces of broken faïences from Malicorne (35kg of broken plates, defects in cooking, scraps...), and sand and water from the area.

All the woodworking and concrete pouring took place in Malicorne-sur-Sarthe at the city workshops in September 2023. Thanks to the city and the inhabitants of Malicorne for their welcome, goodwill, and curiosity.
